Clinical Psychologist | Advanced Certified Schema Therapist, Supervisor & Trainer | PsyBA Supervisor
My name is Tena (pronounced Ten-uh), I have been working with clients for 18 years and continue to gain enormous satisfaction from connecting with clients and helping them build better lives. I provide a bespoke service, tailoring the therapy to each client and working collaboratively to achieve a person's goals.
I understand that clients come to therapy during a vulnerable time so I aim to provide a safe and non-judgemental space. My approach to therapy is to take the time to truly understand my client so I know how best to help. I spend my initial sessions trying to establish what is driving a client's difficulty. This time also helps me to get to know them so my interventions are tailored to their needs.

The main therapy I offer, Schema Therapy, focuses on treating the underlying factors that drive a person’s difficulties. This treats the cause, not the symptoms. Schema Therapy addresses problems at their core by breaking lifelong dysfunctional patterns and meeting psychological needs.

Clients who seek me are usually professionals, aged 24+ who have tried therapies like Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). They want to try Schema Therapy to build insight and to use this as a catalyst for lasting change.

I also provide clinical supervision for schema therapists who are committed to professional growth with the aim to support their clients. See here for more information.

I hold full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PSY0001126432), and have an area of practice endorsement (AoPE) in Clinical Psychology. I am a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and the International Society of Schema Therapy (ISST).
