CERTIFICATION SERVICES
I offer schema therapy certification supervision, supervision of supervision for those undertaking ISST supervisor accreditation and independent session tape rating.
MY APPROACH

Certification provides an excellent opportunity to significantly elevate and transform your schema therapy skills. However, it can be both exciting and daunting.
I provide a balance of practical guidance and encouragement to help supervisees feel more at ease while developing their skills. I provide tailored guidance on the skills supervisees will be assessed on when submitting their session tape. These range from pinpointing schemas in session to case conceptualisation and experiential techniques.

I encourage my supervisees to bring session tape snippets to our sessions so I can pinpoint strengths and opportunities for improvement. Over time, this iterative process refines the supervisee's skills and prepares them to submit a tape to the independent rater.

My ultimate aim is to help my supervisees cross the finish line successfully, knowing that they have achieved something challenging and truly worthwhile.
ACCREDITATION SUPERVISION FEES
My supervision fee is $225 (plus GST) per 55-minute session, delivered either via Zoom or in person in Northcote, Victoria, Australia.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What are the requirements?

The requirements for standard accreditation are 6 days of certification training and undertaking 20 supervision sessions, and passing 1 tape rating by the supervisee's primary supervisor and 1 tape rating by an independent rater. You must also pass the case conceptualisation form that accompanies each tape.

Double the tape requirements for advanced certification.
I've heard certification is hard, is it worth it?
Great question. The process of certification is not easy! However, it can be transformational for one's schema therapy practice.

Regular supervision along with presenting tapes provides a unique opportunity for deep learning which cannot be replicated through general supervision alone.

The process may be rigorous but the outcome is worth the effort.
What unique qualities do you bring as a supervisor?
I have been told I give clear explanations, am approachable and supportive. I also don't mind having a laugh - an important skill when undertaking certification!
While it has been a few years since I finished certification, I haven't forgotten what it's like.

I think I would suit therapists who enjoy a structured and clear approach.

Ultimately, I believe what makes for a great supervision experience is the match between the supervisor and supervisee.
To this end, I invite prospective supervisees to contact me for a phone call to see if we'd be right for each other.
How long do I have to finish certification?
Supervisees have 3 years to complete the requirements from the end of their last training workshop. For those continuing on to advanced certification, an additional 2 years is given.
Certification supervision can count towards the supervision requirement from the end of the first workshop.

There are several options to extend the time such as completing 6 hours of schema supervision per year or undertaking 6 hours of schema therapy supervision annually.

Please see the ISST website for more detailed information.
What factors should I consider when deciding whether or not to undertake certification?
There is no perfect time to undertake certification supervision. However, there are a few considerations that are worth thinking about.
Checkout my blog post here for guidance on how to decide if certification is right for you.
Can we speak before we start?
Yes, please! I only place therapists (and clients) on a waitlist to see me if I am confident I can help.
If you are interested in being placed on the waitlist, please complete my contact form and I will be in touch to organise a phone call.
