Cyber Savvy



Tena conducts training nationwide on how to effectively respond to risks such as cyber-bullying, sexting, cyber addiction and time wasting online. She promotes a balanced and practical approach. Tena writes cyber safety articles for the media and educational publications.


Cyber Savvy Education Program - 
empowering young people to stay safe in cyberspace 

Cyber Savvy Students empowers primary and secondary school students to make smart decisions about how they use the Internet. Students learn the principles of cyber-citizenship, and how to respond to cyber-bullying, protect their online reputation and manage their privacy. A focus is also placed on managing time online effectively. The session runs for 45 minutes. View the Cyber Savvy Students flyer.

Cyber Savvy Parents empowers parents to understand and manage the risks that their children face in cyberspace including social networking sites. Parents learn positive and effective ways to respond to common cyber hazards such as sexting, cyberbullying, cyberaddiction, privacy concerns and managing time spent online. The session runs for 60-75 minutes and can be tailored to meet the needs of the audience.

Cyber Savvy Teachers assists primary and secondary school teachers to understand and manage the risks students face in cyberspace including exposure to inappropriate content, cyberbullying and disclosure. Teachers learn how to manage parent concerns regarding student Internet use and how to respond to cyberbullying and the distribution of inappropriate content (including sexting) in schools. Teachers also learn about their right to privacy online and how to protect their own digital reputation. The seminar runs for 45-60 minutes and can be structured to fit into one staff meeting.
